I am an undergrad and I have some funding from a fellowship that will expire at the end of this year. My research is translational but on the more basic side and deals with nuclear receptor signaling. Are there any good conferences to attend between now and the end of the year? I would be interested in presenting a poster at least and maybe even a guided presentation. Also, if the conference gives out travel awards that would be great because I doubt that my fellowship funds will be able to cover the total cost.

Also, I'm not URM so I can't go to SACNAS.

Ask your PI or grad students in your lab, they should know local, regional, or national conferences where you could potentially submit your abstract. If you haven’t presented a poster yet, I would recommend a local conference like one on your university’s campus as a low stress introduction!

I've presented a poster at an international conference so I'm not too worried about that. All of the conferences that my lab attends occur in the spring, so we're somewhat at a loss for what I could attend that happens in the fall.
