Hey I was wondering what someone would think of the job I have from a premed perspective. I work a few days a week during the semester in the finance dept. of a company that helps people with autism and other disabilities and my job involves me entering medicaid billing info/stuff for the company. Would this been seen as a positive on my application as its sort of medically related or would it be seen the same as any other job? Thanks.

The only way that I can see this counting as more relevant than any other work experience is if you are interested and passionate about helping people with life long disabilities and took the job specifically to get experience with this/ help out. I say this because what you are doing is not related to healthcare and you are not interacting with the people who your company is helping. If your passionate about the cause though, it does give you something to talk about in essay and interviews!

Regardless of how ADCOMs view this particular job, having a job is always a good thing and you can definitely put that on your app! 🙂
