I am about ready to submit all of my applications and I just wanted to get a feel for what my chances are for getting accepted into a Pharmacy program.

I took the PCAT in June and got a composite score of 86.
BIO 99
Read Comp 71
Verb 86
Quant 52....yikes!
Chem 63....again, yikes.
Writing 5

My overall GPA is 3.1. It has greatly improved since my first 2 years of college, with my science GPA around 3.25. I have been working as a nuclear pharm. tech for about a year now and I have about 6 months of volunteer experience helping the terminally ill. My letters of rec are solid (2 pharmacists and a Organic II professor). Also, I will be graduating from the Univ. of Missouri-Columbia in May with a BS in Bio and a minor in chem<--you'd think my chem score would be better. I will be applying to UMKC, STLCOP, and Midwestern Univ-Downer's Grove. I was just wondering if I had a decent shot of acceptance with my current record. I am retaking the PCAT this Jan. in hopes of increasing my chem and math scores. I was just hoping someone could give me their thoughts on what my chances may be. ~thanks

Your Bio/Writing scores will open eyes as will your experience. Excellent.

Of course you've got a decent shot. It's good you're retaking the PCAT too. The test won't be much different, and you've shown the smarts to score in the top-90s if you gear your studying towards your weaker subjects.

Nice background. Good experience. GPA steadily rising... All the pieces add up. 👍
