Okay, we know they are coming up next week for a lot of you folks.

Here's a thread for everyone to wish you all good luck with them.:xf:

And from someone who took his general pedi certification exam back when they still had oral and written exams, remember that no disease/condition is as fascinating to those who write these types of exams as ambiguous genitalia. 😛

I really don't know why. And, no, that isn't based on any real knowledge of the exam., or of the correct answers to any of the ambiguous genitalia pathway questions.😕

Now get back to studying, I know you have a few hundred more pages of Nelson's to cover tonight.:scared:

Thank you! Looking forward to Monday (only kidding). I was under the assumption that this test was via computer. However, I was instructed by the AAP to bring several # 2 pencils to the exam. Oh well. :scared:

Congratulations to the newly Board Certified Pediatricians!

Go out and celebrate tonight and bill it to OBP :meanie:

Or not...

In any case, be glad you don't have to NOW do oral exams like we did "way back when".

Thank you! Felt good to pass! 🙂 I must admit though...i wasn't expecting news until after the holidays!

This was so difficult! Half of the questions did have nothing to do with whats in the books. .......? Come on this is not Sponge Bob! ABP what were you thinking??? Now I will have to take it again next year and I have now idea how to pay for it. That sux!!:scared:

Reminder not to quote any content areas. Hopefully it went better than you think!😳

It was so hard 🙁 I studied like hell for that thing and when i walked out i felt like i totally failed 🙁

I have to agree with previous posters about this year's exam. 3 yrs of PREP were almost worthless. Not at all what I was lead to expect. Very frustrating. Many of my fellow former residents felt the same.

I did last 4yr of PREP and read Medstudy x2, yet it seemed the Boards were heavy on uncommon and/or non-gen PEDs issues. Well, I guess we'll find out in the New Year 😕

I'm seeing and hearing a trend. It sounds like this year's exam was definitely difficulty. All my fellows and other folks came out very frustrated and saying the same things. Which means that everyone was in the same boat, unless you are a genetics fellow, perhaps. Chin up, hang in there-- The curve is your friend.

I passed! I passed! Holy cow! This is awesome!

I failed last year. I felt lower than low. And I nearly doubled my score this year. I read what people wrote on SDN and decided to approach it like a marathon, not a race....and it worked! If anyone is interested in how I studied I am more than happy to give details.

Congrats to everyone that passed today, and if you didn't....I was where you are now last year, and I promise, if I can do it, you can too.

Pedidoc999, I will be starting my peds residency on July 2012, and I am definitely interested in what you did to prepare for the boards. Thanks in advance, and congratulations on passing the boards!
