ok, here is my dilemma-I want to calculate out my overall GPA, BUT I have combination quarter system/semester classes. Does anyone know of a good GPA calculator that counts in both?

nobody knows of any good GPA calculators?

I used Excel, which made it pretty easy to convert quarter hours into semester hours, calculate cumulative, last 45, and all those other weird GPAs that different schools seem interested in.

i had no idea those existed.

can't you convert the quarter hours to semester hours, figure out that GPA and average it with the semester GPA? or doesn't it work that way?

thanks you guys i'll try these things- BUT-on the VMCAS, am i crazy or is there only ONE place where you can input what your total GPA is?

Yes, on VMCAS there is just one spot for GPA. However, some schools request other calculations; for example, I think Wisconsin asked for a calculation of required science (required as defined by them) GPA in their supplemental form.

thanks!~ ok, so i am risking sounding like an idiot now-BUT-how do i convert quarters to semester credits again? i read somewhere you count quarter units and multiply that by 2/3. is that true?

A google search of GPA calculator turned up some leads...seems there was one from UC Davis that had the capability to convert quarters...

Yep, you got it ... quarter hours x 2/3 = semester hours 🙂
