Can someone please recommend a good physics textbook for me to review physics for the mcats. I already took physics but my book sucked.

thanks

I recently bought my physics book and it looked kind of like my phonics workbook from first grade....until I opened it up 🙁 .

Physics for Scientists and Engineers by Serway (5th edition).

Although, if you can find it, grab the College Physics (6th edition) text. Pretty much same text as above, but cuts the unnecessary clutter (i.e. calculus-based proofs, etc.).

Just use Kaplan's or Princeton's Physical Sciences reviews, they have paractice problems and step by step explanations...

No way!! Serway writes textbooks like I write essays, in other words, he sucks!

Fundamentals of Physics, by Holliday, Resnick and Walker

There is no better book out there. Just make sure you actually read it and pay attention to the examples and proofs if you want to get the most out of it.

👍 i was going to suggest this one, too. i wasn't always happy with the problems (not always enough on each topic), but you could probably supplement with a Princeton Review or Kaplan book.

Agreed, this is the best textbook out there. But you're looking for MCAT prep, I'd go with the Schaum's Outlines suggestion, simply because I think it does a better job of distilling problems down to what you *need* to know, instead of what a physics person *should* know.
