So I got to the end of first year and just barely squeaked by in physiology and am a little worried that I don't have a good foundation for next year when path comes around (traditional curriculum). Any suggestions of good books for review of physiology so that I can at least have a good understanding of the concepts before heading into 2nd year?

I know most people are going to tell me DON'T STUDY IT'S THE SUMMER but I'm worried about 2nd year and I don't want a repeat showing of my performance in physiology. Any ideas for good review books would be appreciated. Thanks!

I used BRB Physio and Linda Costanzo's Physiology book for physio this year in vet school based off of recommendations from older allo threads on here. They were fantastic and I definitely recommend both of them

Yea, I'd third that suggestion of BRS physio.

Also read FA for the sections you have trouble with specifically for good mnemonics/helpful hints/path correlates

And if you're looking for a good reference to have on hand, Ganong Physio is a good bet as well. Can get a used old edition pretty cheap. (I used it for renal and repro at my school)

I liked BRS physio to study for my physio final because it gave u a framework to hang your alrdy accumulated knowledge from the class.. the only reason im skeptical about it is if I didn't really know the info idk how well BRS would be in teaching me concepts I didn't understand.

There is also a brs cases and problems book that I liked

Costanzo's Physiology was pretty much all I needed for the Step 1 in terms of raw physio knowledge

I recommend the bigger physio review book by Costanza (same author as BRS physio)

it explains concepts very clearly

I also recommend the larger Costanzo book. The BRS book has essentially the same content as the Costanzo book, but the BRS book is in unreadable outline format, while the Costanzo book is highly readable. Guyton and some of the other phys books have a ton of stuff, like experiments behind the phys, that is not necessary to know, but Costanzo's text is pretty much what you need to know and very little of what you don't
