Does anyone know of a good website to get pdf versions of the books one uses for clerkships? I prefer to lug my ipad around and leave my books at home, but I end up getting pdf versions of the books I'm using, a little later into the clerkship than I would like.

There must be a place people are getting these pdfs from. I looked at medicalbooksfree.com and it wasn't so helpful. Is there a way to get Blueprints OB-Gyn and the Step Up to Medicine books without having to go through a classmate's hard drive?

This is probably not the answer you're looking for, but many books are now available for purchase on the Kindle Store and the like. Blueprints OB/Gyn and Step Up to Medicine are both there, and there is a Kindle app for iOS.

Not quite the answer, I know you can buy them online. But for short clerkships it doesn't make sense to buy hardcopy and the pdf. I was more asking of where to get them for free. Some books like surgical recall offered a free pdf with the hardcopy purchase. But I haven't seen that with the two I mentioned.

Use Google. No one is going to post links to illegal material on this website.

Tried google already. I'm not looking for a link, just a name of a lead which I can then google. I'm sure there's something out there that ppl are using that I'm not aware of.

Check to see if your school subscribes to the First aid Ebook library - it has most of the clerkship books online and works on a tablet/phone as well. [flash based]

The official ebook version of most of the books really suck imo. I tried samples from amazon and rather just buy the hardcopy or get a scanned pdf. Googling the book you want you're looking for has worked for me so not sure why you're having issues.

You must not be looking very hard. Just search "'Name of book' pdf" and tons of links to shady filesharing websites will come up.

"First aid Ebook library" is that the same as McGraw Hill Ebook library?

Sites like MDConsult, to which your school may have a subscription, often offer PDFs of textbook chapters. I can get PDFs of all of Sabiston (surgery textbook).

For review books though, you're going to be pirating them, down and dirty. Torrents are probably your best/only bet for most of them.

No you didn't. If you had searched for any of the books we use in the wards on google then you would've found something.
