I know UIC is really competitive but I really want to go there. Here are my numbers:

GPA: 3.8
PCAT: 96

How good of a chance do I have to get in?

Are you honestly worried with this GPA and PCAT score? You shouldnt be worried about any school unless you have a felony on your record or come to the interview drunk or something like that. I would say you have a very good chance of getting into UIC or any other school for that matter assuming you write a decent personal statement and have at least some extracurricular activities. Anyways good luck.

Well, 74 of my friends and I have already applied to UIC this year, and we've done pretty well:

gpa: 4.0 (Stanford)
PCAT: 99

Also, myself and 20 of my friends have parents/siblings who are students or are alumni, so you might not get in this cycle.

Wow I didn't expect so much sarcasm, haha. I just didn't know if our stats were considered again after we were invited for an interview, making the interview the determining factor, or if our entire application was reviewed again after the interview.

So, basically, does a good application make the interview less important compared to somebody with a mediocre application?

This is how UIC does its application: they use a point structure. When the applications come in, they check for completeness. If completed, it will move to the next step. It will be reviewed, and points will be assigned. You'll get a certain number of points for GPA and PCAT. Somehow, the assign points also for ECs, LORs, etc. The top 300 will be invited for interviews on the week of UIC spring break, which is the week of March 26.
After the interview, the interview and essay points will be added in. Then, a final decision will be reached: accepted, wait listed, or denied.

On a side, the University of Illinois system does not consider legacies.

Hey - I understand your questions..... I also really want to go to UIC and don't necessarily feel like a shoe-in. No matter how good your scores, gpa, etc are, you can always second guess yourself.... I think it's normal - especially if it's something you REALLY want.

I got a 96 on PCAT and my GPA is 3.40. I'm also hoping that's good enough to get in!

I live in Chicago and am only applying to Midwestern and UIC. They're the only two right in the area and I want to stay in Chicago.

More than likely, assuming decent ECs, LORs, etc, you should get an interview with UIC. If you get the interview, you have a 50-50 shot of getting in.
As a UIC student, the way they sometimes pick students seems weird. If you want you can always talk with the prePharmacy admissions counselor at UIC.

Anyone else out there applying to UIC? I'm curious what your stats are???

Just very curious, and impatient for this whole process to be done!😀

I'm applying to UIC too.
PCAT:88 GPA:3.77, BS-biology after spring semester, and the typical research and volunteering EC but no pharmacy experience..🙁 but my research supervisor that wrote a rec for me is affiliated with the COP so I hope that helps a little!

Your stats should get you an interview thought, all my friends admitted last year were in the range of 80-90 PCAT and 3.50-3.75 GPA. Yea but it does suck to wait so long just to see if we'll get interviews!!
