Thank you. If Sint Eustatius is a good school, which I have no doubt they are, I will graduate from there. I really like the folks I have talked with from Sint Eustatius, and I really like what they are doing for their students. They have a great clinical program, and 99.9% of their students have obtained residency, very nice indeed. I really hope to add something to the school in the future. Best wishes!🙂

ps. I never got transcripts from sj or xavier because I only went to each place for three weeks. I do not and will never consider these places that I have attended; I simply gave these places a chance. In other words, they are never going to be put on my "official" transcripts. And, I could care less what they lie about. A con game is a con game, and I will NEVER recognize these places as anything else. I did make the mistake of going to SMU, but ooopppppsssss, my bad, that has been corrected. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Look at me, I have no degree, a 2.5 overall undergrad gpa, a 2.5 science gpa, MCAT 20, 40 years old, at my 2nd med school after only 4 semesters, have tried two other carib med schools, and have just withdrawn from two 4th semester classes because I was failing both (path and pharm), just got an F (genetics), and barely passed the other class (PD 4). Yet, Sint Eustatius has been gracious enough to give me chance, and I really like them. Now, a lot of folks will say "I have no shot of becoming a doctor." Screw them!!!! Who are they to judge. They will NEVER stop me. They have nothing to do with my fate. Most of them will tell you the same thing if you are an underdog. Do NOT listen to them. Do what you feel is in your heart. I ONLY study the PASS Program!!!🙂 After one year or so, because of Dr. Francis and the PASS Program, I expect to have a wonderful step 1, 2 and 3 score. I hope others will go there and get great step scores too; he is fantastic. I truly believe he has the best review course in the country. I will prove the doubters wrong! You can too! If you love medicine, come to med school and give yourself a chance. You have sooo much to offer. I beleive in you completely! I believe in you and what you can do! Best wishes! 🙂

I cant imagine how someone who fails multiple medical classes can say hes going to rock the USMLE!!

My advice to people with low GPA and MCAT is to study hard and go into a medical school and stick to it, this advice of jumping from medical school to medical shcool is a joke and in no way is a positive advice.

Just go to a medical school and study your ass off!!

It is not free that I know of; I pay about $3,000 or so a month to go to the PASS Program. I have afforded it, can afford it and have been there between semesters since the end of 1st semester. Ask Dr. Francis, if you know him, which I know you don't. Ask him who Stefan is, and he will tell you. Please get into med school; you haven't even gotten into one yet. You have been posting forever and still don't go to med school.

As far as a "joke," I've said I would kill step 1, 2 and 3, and I will get at least a 270. Yes, I will post my score here publically after Aug or so. In fact, I will put my score up with yours anyday! You come on here and talk without even knowing or experiencing my life, as if you know. You are talking about something you know nothing about. Telling other students I have no business here. You fired the first shot, and I will fire the last. I'm 4th semester, I'm in my 2nd med school, Sint Eustatius did take me, AUA may be next. I'm not quitting, unlike some. I'm not going anywhere. I strongly encourage the other prospective students to try regardless of their history, and ignore folks like you. Are you saying you're thinking of leaving Sint Eaustatius already to go somewhere else? I'm not familiar with your complete story but from reading this thread it appears you've set foot in 4 schools already. You might be shooting yourself in the foot by attending so many different schools. Even if you score very highly on the Steps programs might still view you with suspicion.

I know a lot of folks have this concern, but not me. Time will tell. Often times, folks assume transferring is bad. Transferring up is never bad; people are sometimes afraid to accept the challenge.🙂

Hey SBT.... just an opinion here - I admire your self confidence.. have to admit it borders psychotic sometimes but you have a passion and that I respect. Now granted, you haven't done much to back up those firey words so to this point they have no ancor and are just dangeling in the winds of about 4-5 beautiful carribean islands.

I think you'd find a lot more encouragement here and everywhere else (i.e. valuemed or something) if you discussed your strugles and asked for some guidance from people that have walked the line and seen the light already. I think you need some help in figuring out how to pass classes and be successful in one of these programs; even more so USMLE steps.

I also sugest you consider the whole "greatest cardiosurgeon ever" thing for a couple of reasons... You're in dire need of demonstrating you're capable of earning an MD let alone a residency spot, even less a surgery one, even even less a CT fellowship and e.e.e. less a cardio one after. Also being 40 or so as you state, and with your track record, you'll be lucky to finish med school anywhere by 45, and assuming all doors are open and you fly through with golden wings, you're looking at another 10 or so years before anyone puts you in charge of an OR or a heart for that mater!! Now starting at 55 or close to 60 your career as a surgeon sure doesn't seem promissing, let alone getting to the tip of the totem pole - by the time you start, the skills needed for that trade are starting to read classifieds in Florida... (And I'm not even going to start with the financial implications of everything you've screwd up so far and what awaits you in the future)

I sugest you start focusing a little more on your immediate goals, things like passing path and pharm and than you can consider yourself a 4th sememster student, and than step 1 and so on...
We'll be here to cheer you on with every good news you have - honestly, I'll be the first to pop the cork - but you have to shut up for a while and put up! Is as simple as that my friend....

I rather doubt it, as I have said before, I really like the folks at Sint Eustatius. My point is that prospective students need to know there is no one way to do things successfully when it comes to medicine. You can get to where you want to go as long as you stay focused and determined. Do whatever you want, just get to your goal. Do not listen to the folks who tell you that you have to do this or that, or that only certain people are going to make it in medicine. Wishful thinking on their part. Most of the nay sayers are losers. They will never be worth a damn at anything. They never win and probably never will. They just whine and point their finger at the ones who are trying to shake up the world. Ignore the losers and continue to move forward.

After hearing SBTurner announce that he failed yet another exam with a score in the 50's, most people truly felt sorry for him. Many suggested that he put down the PASS program materials he spent memorizing during class. Others gave him solid advice on how to pass the classes. SB chose not to listen. From what others have told me, SB chose to even take a week off during the middle of the most recent semester to attend a PASS program review. Although SB is a bit odd, he does not appear to be a bad guy. He is just angry with himself, and instead of trying to correct for his mistakes, he has chosen to take it out on the schools he attended. While this is an ordinary means of defense, I would challenge SB to take a look within and revise the PASS program plan. It's not working. It is a review. It is meant to be completed after successfully completing all of the Basic Science classes. As far as how SB has disparaged SMU, the students at SMU know that this is not true. While one person may have a loud voice, others may have soft ears. So as SBTurner bids farewell to SMU (hmm... hmm... ), SMU is glad to have him gone.

I am doing beautifully on the craplan questions; I am averaging almost 50 percent

I've been following these threads because, frankly, your exaggerated confidence is a bit entertaining (no offense). However, please realize that it's not the school that prepares you for the exams, it's you that prepares you for the exams. Also, a 50% on Kaplan practice tests will not be a passing score in the real exam.

godschosenone had good advice. Review courses are just that, review. If you don't learn the material during the regular course, then there's really nothing to "review" since you didn't learn it the first time around.
