Anyone else notice how useless state boards are at processing applications or communicating? Pretty much everything is an automated recording forwarding you to email or a website FAQ which is useless.

Years ago it was pretty bad, but now....it's almost as if the entire system is collapsing. Nearly impossible anymore to even get a live person. Nobody actually works anymore. End rant

What state(s) are you trying to work with?

keep dentists out of the state by making getting a license impossible

Delaware knows what they’re doing.

The whole state licensure is a scam.

it should be NATIONAL licensure

instead I have to take another BS test for 4k to work on the east coast and then pay another 2k for a license

Yes, it can be difficult. Life is hard.

I got my license in Minnesota by credentials due to being licensed in Georgia (which at the time did not participate in any regional exam).

The BOD in Georgia sent a letter to Minnesota saying that I had a passing grade on their Board exam, and then said "due to his unsuccessful completion of the Georgia Dental Board Examination, Dr. "OMSDOC" was awarded Georgia dental license no. xxxxx."

That's correct. There was a typographical error in their letter. It said "unsuccessful" instead of "successful".

And the Minnesota Board of Dentistry would not accept the letter.

Life is not fair. But, as my parents said frequently, "Who said it had to be fair?"

My ears were ringing, my blood pressure was so high.

This is U.S. federalism. You can alway convince enough of your fellow citizens to amend the Constitution. Otherwise, you can form your own country.

The latest one is Virginia. Phone calls, messages, emails, ect. Never a live person and never a response, it's a complete joke.

If you live in Virginia, try a phone call to your state legislative representative. Those guys can get action. (I think the program is set up this way on purpose so that licensed professional are forced to feel beholding to their elected officials. What a racket!)

Graduated in May, hadn’t yet passed the boards, finally did, and am still waiting for my license. This is taking so long.

Interesting, I got my VA license quite quickly (two years ago). I did it by reciprocity though.
