Anyone using the new Google Spreadsheets to track Medical School Applications. It's pretty slick. It even imported my existing excel spreadsheet that I was using.

I like to have it online so I don't have to worry about taking the XLS file with me or uploading it everytime. The other advantage is that you can share it with others (read only OR full access as you want) though the latter may only be limited to people who have a gmail account.

If you need a gmail account let me know. I've got plenty to give out.

What are you tracking with spreadsheets, besides schools and dates?

I have sheets for each application service I'm using : AMCAS, TMDSAS, AACOMAS. Within the sheets here are the column headings I'm tracking:

School
Funding (private/public)
City
State
Tuition & Fees
Secondary Fee
Screened Sec (Y/N)
Grants
Avg Debt
Reasons (why I like the school)

Most of the info I copy & pasted from the USNEWS website. Some I typed in from MSAR and or the school's website. I'll probably add more columns to handle the timeline aspect of applying (sec sent; LOR sent; file complete check date; interview, etc. dates & such)

Another cool thing is I can take the School, city and state column and have mappoint spit out a map of the country showing where I'm applying. I use that to show my family places and get feedback as it relates to logistics - distance from family - presence of extended family in the region, etc. Some like the graphical view.
