Got a new 5th LOR can I send 5 via ERAS

When I first applied I sent out 4 LORs to all the programs. 3 of them were not from people in my chosen field, psychiatry. Well now I have this 5th letter from a psychiatrist. My question is can I somehow send this 5th LOR by ERAS. I thought the limit was 4, but if you unselect one can you send another?

It's almost February and you want to send an LOR to your programs? Poor planning on your part and PDs may consider it more of a nuisance to look over one more letter at this point in the game. Even if you decide to send it, that letter better be from some monster academic psychiatrist or you would be better off not sending them the letter. Most programs will consider your file complete after they receive the first 3-4 letters.

Is your application weak enough that a letter will make or break you? If not, don't send it. If so, then talk with your administration for advice. I personally would not send one this late.

talk to someone in your school, Dean etc, and ask them what should you do. My opinion echoes does expressed above but your dean knows more than us.

If they ask for 4, DON'T send 5. Don't cause headaches for the PD, thats how to get knocked down the rank list. Unless you JUST got back an earth shattering Step 2, or you've just been awarded a Nobel, don't rock the boat.

Psychiatry ain't like integrated plastics. I'm sure you'll match just fine....
