I emailed my local dental society a few days ago; being the weekend of the 4th, I didn't expect a reply for awhile. Since I was out of town the day after I sent said email, I didn't check my account til today. Now that I'm back, I find that I had a reply yesterday that an oral surgeon agreed to let me shadow and gave his number. Also, that email was sent at noon, so had I been on top of things, I could have called that day.
Long story - definitely not short - should I apologize? Or since word about the shadow had to be passed from the surgeon to the society then to me, is there an expected lag time? Really nervous about this, since I haven't had much luck with shadows and this is my first shot. 🙁

don't worry about it. just give him a call tomorrow or as soon as you can. i doubt he expected a reply 1 hr later. good luck.

Thanks so much. Even though I suspected this, I also figured it could go one way or another and that some feedback could help with gauging the situation.

You e-mailed dental society lets say Friday. You don't respond until today. Big deal. I don't see a problem. Call him and set up a date. I am pretty sure he did not expect you to call back the same day.
