Got accepted to LECOM. When is the drug screen and background check?

Got accepted to LECOM. Anyone know how long I have till I have to get the drug screen and criminal background check done? By prior to matriculation does that mean before school in August or does it mean in the next couple weeks because I haven't gotten any paper work for it yet?

Btw the reason I ask is im going to do service in India in next couple weeks and will be gone till July so wanted to make sure I didn't miss a deadline while gone. It's not cause I have anything to worry about

Tell them you're going to India and want to make sure you get all the requirements done. Just ask when you have to get everything done. It's simple.

I sent them an email just haven't gotten all the paperwork from them yet was wondering if anyone had experience with this and when they did? is it usually something you get done right away or could I wait till after I come home in July to get some of that stuff done?

LECOM E, B, or S? I use to regularly call LECOM B and they were always helpful.

LECOM- E, they ask to ask any questions about admissions through email on their website. Also don't want the school to think I am trying to get time to do these or something or that I have something to worry about. Like I feel weird calling being like... " so when is the criminal check and drug screen because I need to get them done or I'll need to do them in July." I feel like they'd think I was trying hide something or get them done soon so I could smoke or something. I just was hoping someone had experience with this and it was like something you had to do by the end of July or something

Be honest and explain your situation clearly....and I'm sure you will be fine. Try to communicate through email if that is what they recommend. But if they don't respond within a few days I would call them.

On the background check website (after you log in) it says the deadline is July 1st 2015. It's an online form you fill out so you could at least do that part in India if you have internet access. I haven't finished it yet so I'm not positive what all the drug test requires. I have tried calling them and emailing a few times with questions on all the paperwork and I don't get a response. So good luck.

It's not as difficult as it sounds. You can do the questionnaire part of the background check online, and it shouldn't take you much more than an hour. For the drug check, you just have to stop by a clinic that offers that company's drug test, and it'll probably take an hour or so as well. It's probably easier to get it out of the way before your trip so you don't have to stress about it.

From when I applied, they sent out the matriculation packet after you send in your deposute.

I would *definitely* get it done before you leave, otherwise they might get a bit testy.

The matriculation packet will include the information on the required vaccinations and titres and background checks.

The background checks are done through a 3rd party. You fill out their application, pay the fee, and then they tell you where to go to pee in the cup. It's pretty standard fare. But it's a lot of paperwork so the sooner the better.

Not to mention that class starts in the end of July. So that might be cutting it close for comfort.
