when was your app complete? if you don't mind me asking. I received an under review email on 8/27 and still haven't heard a peep.

it sounds like they're putting your apps on hold right now like one of the other posters said... they're not rejecting you, but they're not inviting you to interview yet either... best of luck!!

I got that email this morning too. I do not think it's good news because I got that same email last year and then got rejected.

Yep, I got the same letter. It sounds to me like they'll consider interview invitations for us come post-Dec.

sounds like Buffalo has tendency to offer decent amount of interviews post Dec 1. So you will be among candidates to get post Dec interviews. After choosing their "first rate" applicants and seeing whether those applicants reciprocate their feelings many DS will offer post Dec 1 interviews, specially after Jan 15 when first deposits are counted.

yep. just got that e-mail yesterday. I guess that's a pretty efficient technique to ensure all spots are filled.

I got the same thing last year. It just means that after looking at your app, they don't know if they want to give you an interview. So you're now on "continuing review" which means your app is now in a pile somewhere in the back and will most likely be forgotten. I eventually made it off the continueing review list... straight into the rejected list. Getting an interview from continuing review is like making the wild-card round on American Idol. So in other words, consider yourselves half rejected.

I don't like it b/c I got that email too. But I agree with you; this email weight more toward rejection than offering an interview in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if the apps are in a third category, while they wait towards the end to evaluate the highly, unquestionably qualified for interview and/or acceptance. Doesn't mean people in this group are bad, but there's going to be a large group where they are equally qualified, though not in the high end of the range, so they have to compile and compare everyone, then reject the lower portion based on how many spots they have remaining.

word on the street is that buffalo is accepting/interviewing FAR fewer out of state applicants this year, i would hazard a guess that most of you in this group are from out of state. don't feel bad the state is putting pressure on a the school to accept more instate kids who are probably as or more qualified than out of state kids.

damnit! Just got this e-mail today 🙁. I am Canadian so I knew it would be hard getting in, but I literally live half an hour away from this school so it would have been nice.

Regardless of the speculations, let's stay positive. We gain nothing by discarding our hopes. Having our applications in the "continued review" pile is better than a rejection.
