It says I shadowed him at 2 different occasions. Does it matter to the schools? Should I get another letter? I hate to ask him to change it.

I had also shadowed his colleague who also works at the same clinic. Additionally, I've shadowed others docs but they weren't all DO's.

Well, is this not true? Did you shadow him more than 2 times? If he made a mistake then yes you should ask him nicely to rewrite it, but if you did only shadow him 2 times then he is only stateing the facts. Is it a long letter? A good letter that is very unique? By unique I mean not a letter that just says so and so shadowed me and he will make a good doctor, but one that actually shows your personality and how much you want to be a doctor. I think that med schools will look at quality not quantity. I wouldnt worry about it too much.

Gosh I pray this is true. I'd hate for my app to be given a thumbs down just because of duration of time with a DO versus duration as a whole - overall (volunteering, shadowing other docs, etc.).

The adcoms usually want the DO LOR to see that you've had some exposure to Osteopathic medicine and, maybe, get exposed to OMM, some of the history of DOs, etc. The letter you have at least lets them know that you've got some exposure and that the physician was willing to write the LOR for you. 🙂

If you have another Dr that knows you pretty well and will write you a letter, then go ahead & get it. Otherwise, I wouldn't fret too much over this.

Thanks DrMom. See this is another reason I think DO is great for me -> helpful people.

Yep. Dr Mom is correct.

I didnt shadow my LOR writer at all. He doesnt allow pre-meds to shadow him. But he meant with me for an hour and did a mini interview and then wrote a very nice letter for me. I had faxed him my personal essay and a few secondary essays that I had written. So you dont need to shadow your DO LOR writers.
Good luck to you all!!! :luck:
