That's becuase her dad is a pitt alum. remember she said her dad called pit for her and bam...she got an interview invite. I hope my point about d-school politics is finally recognized. it sometimes comes down to who you know, not what you know.

While i may not agree with everything that Chad says, i will tell you and i actually saw the power of a parent alum.

1. my dentist has a son who applied to 20 schools and ONLY got into UPenn, where his dad had graduated!!

2. Creighton University dental school, in their newsletter, proudly published that 11 out of 80 their incoming freshman for fall 2003 have "at least one parent graduating from Creighton University School of Dentistry". The newsletter in on their website.

thats why on the AADSAS application (and often on the secondary) they ask if you have a relative who is a dentist and if they have gone to that school.

that is discrimination? sue!! 😡

moral of the story:

see the difference that personality and truthfulness can make. many members are given props for getting interviews, while certain individuals are ......

Did IAMSARA say that Pitt wants to interview her because her dad "made a call"???? now THAT is crap. I've been reading this girl's posts for a while now and she definately has a stick up her butt... she has no right to put down other people for no reason...if she has no respect for others then there is no successful place for her in the field of dentistry...i feel bad for tthe poor patients who will have to deal with her and her bad attitude

Wow.. 54 replies and over 2000 visits. Not every thread gets this much attention. don't take it personal Sara.

so apparently if you use an exclamation mark instead of an "i", its not considered swearing even though its blatantly obvious what you are tryin to say...go figure

This "!" looks like an exclamation mark to me...

GPA in 3.8's, DAT in 20's--it all just makes me wonder...

Honest mistake...fixed. I never was any good at English, but I guess you can't be good everything. Hopefully there isn't too much composition involved in dentistry (other than those pesky insurance narratives).

Sweet...

I'd hire someone good to deal with 4ucking insurance, too!
