Anyone who can give me an advice especially for harvard?

I think...
Given DAT scores,
4.0 22
3.9 23
3.8 24
whatever GPA above 3.5+ 25+![]()
Nope I have a 3.85 and AA23 TS25 and got rejected today. God knows what they want, looking at predents i see people with a lot lower stats getting interviews.
Awwww didn't get into Harvy, better luck next year

Are you seriously thinking about waiting another year just to apply to Harvard again?
"big boys" don't score a 19 on RC.
Edit: For real though, I'm implying TS wants to reapply just because he didn't get in, in which case would be rediculous
I figured thats what you implied but the way you worded it seemed like you were attacking me too. I agree waiting a year for any school including is not a good idea. your also right 19 isnt very big boyish but an academic average in 98 percentile and Total science in the 99 percentile make up for it 😀
Sick percentiles dude lol

I got a call from Harvard yesterday inviting me to an interview and I certainly dont have "big boy" RC or bio stats. I wonder what they see in me.

LEAVE YOUR STATE AND GO TO HARVARD~I really wouldn't get too down on yourselves about Harvard. If a majority of people knew what the "magic combination" that Harvard was looking for, well... it wouldn't be Harvard. Now if this was law school or business school... I'd be singing a different tune.
I don't envy the Harvard admissions committee at all... from a sheer statistical standpoint, their job is daunting. Just imagine the number of applicants they have to turn away that have not only outstanding numbers (like shoombol... great stats btw), but also with extensive extracurriculars and research experience. Let's face it... the people who are applying to Harvard (with the few exceptions of some applicants that are EXTREMELY hopeful, maybe borderline delusional, about their chances at the "H" bomb) are all gunners in one way or another. To make things worse, with a class size of only a mere 35 people, they have to look outside the box for those X factors (i.e. "extraordinary life experiences" - whether it be an advanced degree like a PhD, extreme adversity faced during life, exceptional instances of community service, and maybe even ethnicity), as someone previously mentioned, otherwise their job of selecting their class would be impossible.
Shoombol is right - look at the Harvard interviewee stats on predents. All of them have impressive GPAs, but when it comes to DAT scores, they're not jaw-dropping by any means. So, just because you've been rejected from Harvard despite having great numbers and a great application doesn't necessarily mean that you're an "undesirable" DS applicant. It might just mean that you don't fit the Harvard "mold" - some people are fortunate enough to fit that mold, some can only dream of it, and others have no desire to.
Count me in guys. 😀 Shoombool, you get my sympathy first!
Just got the Harvard rejsnail mail. It's actually good that I won't have another trip to the east coast in the middle of all the crazy midterms coming around.

damn harrygt, i have the same DAT scores as you, and now i am kind of scared..
how long did it take for them to get back to you after they told you your application was complete??
Got a mail from Harvard. Sigh...This one was the dream school of my life...
I will give a shot next cycle...Anyone who can give me an advice especially for harvard?
Not to burst any bubbles here but....
what would be the advantage of going to Harvard, as opposed to any other dental school?
Would patients really care if their dentist went to Harvard, Columbia, or any other high league school?
I am asking as I really don't know.
First of all, Columbia is not a "high league school" Not even in the top 10.
please elaborate on this, ive never heard it not being near the top
There are no dental school rankings, however Columbia is one of the 3 ivy's so reputation wise it is pretty good. As for it being a very good school I agree. They don't have any clinic its almost all didactic and they assume if you know the theory you can do it in real life.
)What do you mean they have no clinic?

Yeah, I thought I saw a clinic during the school tour. 😕
LOL what i meant by that was that they barely have any clinic hours. They have clinic like 2 days a week as a D4. That absurd.
What residency program have you spoken to. I shadowed a residency program director and she said that columbia grads have exceptional didactic backgound but severely lacking in clinic. Additionally I have spoken to several recent dental school graduates and they all echoed the same thing, Columbia grads are signifigantly behind graduates from most other programs when it comes to clinic.if columbia produces clinically poor graduates, why do some of the best residency programs continually accept graduates from there? you'd think after a few years of accepting graduates with poor clinical skills the programs would stop taking people from columbia? or is my logic out of line?
