Haha, on the other hand, answers are generic because a lot of people feel that way. The family challenge answer is overwhelmingly generic, but I think it is very true...

Yeah, by no means did I mean to say that just because it's generic was it bad.

Also, a generic subject matter can still be personal and engaging. For example, epistemological texts might be pretty generic on the whole, yet the Odyssey continues to impress us.

AMCAS submitted June 20, processed June 30, and received UVA secondary July 8. It was hard not to be generic.

Don't the UCs screen? I thought since they screen, it would take them a while to get them out. Did you get invites through email?

I didn't think the UC secondaries would be out this early either. I went to their application status website and tried to log in and each one said that it didn't have any AMCAS information for me. Strange.... 😕

I realized a few days ago that Johns Hopkins and Yale both had their secondaries available online and I've already started filling them out even though I haven't received any notification from them. Am I supposed to wait to hear from them?? Do you guys know of any other schools where you have to fill out the secondary without them telling you? I had assumed that I would hear from every school on whether they wanted me to fill out a secondary or not...but I guess I was mistaken. What other schools should I look out for?

I thought maybe we could make a list of when our apps were verified, what secondaries we've gotten and when we were offered interviews. I think someone else might have tried to start this thread, but I can't find it so sorry if it's a repeat. I'll start....

Based on what I've seen in various discussions here, for people who submitted in early to mid June it took only 3 to 4 business days to get verified whereas people who submitted more recently are waiting 6 to 8 business days. I submitted July 1 and have not yet been verified which isn't really too surprising given the July 4 holiday. Even though it's been 8 or 9 days now, there have only been 4 business days in that period. I'm hoping mine will be done by monday or tuesday.

It might be that columbia is only using the aamcas system for the second time so they still want it (they also ask for you to have your school send them an official transcript)

Columbia, and others that re-ask for AMCAS info, may also be using you to enter the info into their own server, instead of them having to pay secretaries to do it. They may want to be able to search for specific classes or otherwise manipulate parts of your app, or to only give a skeleton of the app to your interviewers for a semi-closed interview.

I've got secondaries from MCW, Rush (well, saying that I will, but their site isn't ready yet), and Yale. Yale's is really confusing - I'm trying to find what they actually want. 😕

I'm slightly confused about Yale's secondary as well. But from what I can tell they basically want the name and info of each mailing the school should get for you (as it will be shown in the online status page). Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

okay so like my last post just stated, I received a secondary from GW so I just went to check my AMCAS status and my application is still not verified. Has this happened to anyone else? Yah, I'm applying to LSU-NO and Shreveport, I hadn't heard anything as of Saturday morning, but haven't been home since then. . the restaurant I worked for booked me and my husband a hotel room a block away to ensure we'd be able to work on saturday! To think all we got was some drizzle

I also filled out UMiami's interest form so I'm just waiting for the secondary. Anyone know how long that takes?

yeah i just got aecom's email today as well but cant access their secondary. i hope they fix it soon.
