just got my AECOM secondaries today. all in all, painless, except for $100 they're taking from my checking account.

question for people who already did this: they're asking me to describe what i did for the year i'm taking off "in a separate sheet of paper"
what's the length of this description that I should shoot for? any thoughts?

I wasn't even sure if I should have checked that box or not... I plan to finish school in December so I said "Technically, I'm taking part of a year off." Anyway, I wrote one paragraph which ended up being about 12 lines, single-spaced. I just talked about the various things I'm doing or planning to do throughout the next year. Some parts were vague, some were more specific. I said after finishing school that I plan to try and find a full or part-time job while still continuing my hospital volunteer stuff, yada yada.

Just got UMich today, got Feinberg yesterday. Gonna try to hurry up with those (these deadlines for Feinberg are ridiculous!). I don't like having them floating around, and I don't want them to pile up on me. I don't know how those of you applying to 15+ schools will be able to handle it, let alone 30-40 schools.

Iowa DOES screen and I emailed Tulane yesterday to ask if I was completed or not. This is the message I received in return:

"Unfortunately due to some changes made by AMCAS, our database is not
available yet. Therefore I am unable to give an update on the status of
your application. Please contact us again towards the end of the month when
we will hopefully be able to answer your question. Thank you

TJU is accusing me of "breaking in" to their system, having just received an invite with password and username. So, that's off to a really good start.

yeah, it isnt working for me either. gives me some long text page of what appears to be the HTML code for what the application should look like. and since its after hours, i guess i cant call them....
guess ill have to wait till tomorrow.
if anyone else does get access to it, could you please post the essay questions?

I pretty sure Jefferson has no essays..but you can download a pdf copy of it and mail it if you wish to.

Regarding the online application: I assume I do not have to create an account because the e-mail listed my login ID and login PIN. I get passed the login screen, click on the link that says "Complete Secondary Application," and then I'm brought to a screen with a bunch of programming code. I hit the Back button, and they say "A break-in attempt has been detected." It seems like whatever link I click to get somewhere, I end up with this break-in message. I can't seem to access the online application at all. Has anyone else been successful?

Regarding the PDF form: I used the link supplied in the e-mail and it brings me to a webpage that says in bold print, "File Not Found." It is because Columbia is new to the AMCAS thing so it is based on reminences of their days of being nonaffiliated with the AMCAS.

I have come to the conclusion that they are ****oo for Cocoa Puffs over there. 30 minutes to write 3 essays? 2 weeks to get your LOR's in? Some of my letters are NOT going to meet that standard... I guess I'd better not hold my breath for an interview. 🙄
