I got UVA interview invite today in snail mail. Anyone else got UVA yet? I don't remember the exact date, but I was complete in mid July. I'm excited though, 2 interview invites today 🙂

I was just about to say, two in one day!!! That is awesome. Congrats on that.

rtmcad - I assume that you mean a secondary application...

diosa - I have a 38 and haven't heard anything from Pitt, so they're either processing in groups or including factors other than MCAT alone.

Cuddly - I don't think they have a strict MCAT cutoff (based on my own case)

I don't think he meant a secondary. I got a brochure thing from them and I didn't send them a primary. I just assumed they got my name b/c of the MCAT (I took it in April). I guessed that b/c I know Wash U also does that, and I also got an email from MCW after I took the MCAT. So don't panic! No secondaries, and no cutoffs.

Somebody who has a Drexel secondary should find somebody with the full Adobe Acrobat who's willing to spend the time to convert the file by putting in typeable text boxes and stuff. I think somebody did that for Ros Franklin. Better yet, maybe somebody who GOT the Drexel secondary has the full version of Adobe Acrobat 🙂

I have it. I tried to upload it but it says the file is too large. Is there another way to put it up? For now, PM me if you want it. 😀

Edit: Looks like someone else has it up already. Look for the thread called "Drexel Secondary and Adobe Acrobat".

Q, did you apply to Pitt? If so, have you gotten a secondary? I guess I'll get mine sometime soon. I'm just ready for these secondaries to be done!

No, I didn't apply to Pitt. I was responding to someone who asked if everyone had received an unsolicited brochure from them after taking the MCAT and been invited to submit the AMCAS app to them, and I was saying that I hadn't.

Not that I want to add another school, but I have to confess that I do enjoy reading all of the brochures. 😳

Does Drexel screen? If you got it what are your stats?

I got that Pitt thing yesterday. I thought it was going to be my secondary invite, so I was pretty bummed. 🙁

How long should you wait before you can assume you've been cut from a school that screens? I haven't gotten my Pitt letter/brochure/anything so...im just getting super bummed out. 🙁

Oh and Mt. Sinai. Hmmmm

Does anyone know how Loyola is screening primaries?

It seems like alot of people are getting their secondary but I haven't heard from them either way. My AMCAS was verified 7/5. I called yesterday to get a status update but they apparently only do those on Thursdays from 830-5.

Are they screening in state first or alphabetically or randomly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i havent got drexel yet and was complete 6/29 for anyone else who hasn't gotten it and is worried. with that pdf already up in a different thread mine is complete and ready to get dropped in the mailbox as soon as the email does come 🙂 i know how lame.

I just got University of Maryland by email

Is Cornell's online? if so, could someone link to it?

also got Maryland by email...not sure if I'm going to complete it, though...I can't decide

Why, does it require a bunch of essays?

I just got Maryland's and MSSM. Still waiting for Pitt....

Well, yeah, it has some essays. Mostly I'm not so sure why I even included it on AMCAS. I'm not too interested in the school, actually. It was a last minute 10th choice for AMCAS. I think I'd rather go to some of the schools I think I have a great chance at, anyway.

What would I do if I decide not to complete the secondary? Just not do it, or tell them somehow that I withdraw my application?

I just got Mount Sinai 2ndary by e-mail

Nah, just don't turn it in. People notify schools of their withdrawal so adcoms don't waste their time looking over the app, but schools won't consider your app without a secondary anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I'm in that same boat. After researching two schools I've received secondaries for I'm not sure I'm going to continue the application process. I think you need to withdraw your application from the schools but I'm not sure what would happen, if anything at all, if you didn't officially withdraw. I assume you would just get a rejection letter at some point.

Recvd. Drexel, Mt. Sinai, and Maryland since last night.

what time did you get Drexel?
not that it matters, now that we all have the fillable pdf version anyway 😛

Two questions- shoudl i be freaking out since i haven't recieved cornell's secondary? I know they screen, but i'm also not sure how slowly (or fast) they are sending out their invitations to complete a secondary.

Also, does University of MD screen for out of state applicants?

Maryland doesn't screen... at all.

Oh, I got the secondary last night.. and - what is up with the question:

Do you wish to be considered for in-state tuition?

Hell yeah I do!! But I'm guessing since I am a non-resident that I do NOT wish to be considered for in-state tuition. That's my best guess. Weird question.

since when does cornell screen? MSAR says they don't

On the Maryland ap, what do they mean when they ask "Are you a recent graduate"?? Does that mean did I just graduate in May, or did I graduate within the last 3 years, 5 years, what? I graduated a year ago May. Also, I'm assuming they mean college graduate. Maybe they mean grad of U Maryland? Or something else? This is a very ambiguous question, and it has a yes/no answer!

edit: after getting to this question: "What does it mean to be entering a profession?", I'm again wondering if I should really fill this thing out.

I got 2 copies at 5pm last night. One went to my inbox, and one went to my bulk folder; go figure. Check your spam folder just in case.

Just got Duke...
Could they HAVE any more essays?

Post the prompts, would you? (Yoda-esque in sentence structure, that was).

I just got a secondary invite from UCSF! (My AMCAS was processed 7/5 and I got the email acknowledgement from them 7/21)

Man, mine was processed 7/12 and I still haven't been acknowledged. The lady on the phone said there was a "glitch" and the other apps should be acknowledged this Wednesday. Anyone else hear anything from UCSF?

Wow, that's a rough secondary. Good luck with that!

Wow, the Duke secondary is tough! Unlike Duke, the Mount Sinai secondary I received yesterday was quite easy and straight-forward... I sent it off in a jiffy with a steep $105 app fee.

Yeah. 😱
If I'd know what their secondary was, I could have saved the $30 AMCAS fee or designated a different school!

It's not as bad as UC Davis.

thanks

Same mentality I'm having with Boston right now. Not feeling the "optional" Professionalism essay, no AP/IB/CC credit, and the $100 app fee. So long $30. Shoulda coulda woulda...

I'm not an MSTP applicant (already will have the PhD). Here's my info but I don't know how much it helps anyone else.

ooooooo, gmail spam didn't pick up this army email!

Wow, Duke's prompts look tough. I just got their e-mail. I think I'll still complete it, but not until I finish a few other secondaries I've got. I don't think I have a particularly significant chance of getting in there, so I won't rush them to the top of the list or anything. I think I'm gonna tackle Rush and Stanford tomorrow, then Loyola and Duke, and finish up with Ros Franklin. I noticed that some people are hearing from Cornell, but I haven't yet.

Sweet!! sticky!!

I actually had a harder time finding this thread after it was made sticky.

Anyone heard from MSU or Colorado?
