I actually had a harder time finding this thread after it was made sticky.

Anyone heard from MSU or Colorado?

I paid Michigan State to look at my primary a few weeks ago (about 30 minutes after they sent the email) & haven't heard anything since.

I'm not aware that anyone else has either.

Just got cornell via email today. Its a dream come true...easy essays, a reasonable 75 bucks, and no additional essays for MD/PhD. Its the Standard Three: If not attending college, what are you doing....Why Cornell...Criminal Offense explanation. Siiiggghhhh

Havent recieved Cornell yet, been checking my email every 10 mins since i woke up ... every day. Those WHY OUR SCHOOL essays are so tricky. Can't just create a templated version that could be used for all the schools.

you can, sort of...i mean you have your stock paragraph about the setting (enter city school is in), something unique about the curriculum, and finally,tie it up with something personal about your career or some jazz that you might be able to pass on to all the schools. Am I just being lazy/naive here?

thanks for the info benjamin, wow, phd from caltech that is impressive(ucsf likes really research oriented people)...I submitted in june and received the same ucsf 7/21 email, but still no water in the pond, i screwed my mcat and will be taking the aug---oh well hope for the best

I have a bunch of secondaries completed that I can't submit yet because my IDIOTIC bank actually LOST a $1000 deposit that I made. I had to file a claim and now I have to wait until they find it. In the meantime, I have about $8 to live on.

Just got Duke and Cornell...

I'd been waiting on Cornells, but man Duke's is probably the worst one I've ever seen. EVER.

The only schools i am waiting on now are:

UCLA (not a peep)
UCSF (not a peep)
UCSD (waiting for an invite to do the secondary)
Harvard (inevitable, since they'll send to everyone)
Vandy (damn you Vandy! Send me an invite!)

Ugh, still have Stanford and Hopkins on my secondary to-do list and I really don't want to do them.... now Duke's and Cornell's!

Just got Cornell via email 5 minutes ago. A lot of people have been mentioning Drexel (non-screening), but I have yet to receive that PDF secondary.

Boston (nah, screw them and their no AP/CC credit and $100 app fee)
Stanford (still wavering, fat chance)
USC Keck (lots of mini essays, fun)

Still Waiting On
Drexel (looks pretty easy)
Harvard (non-screening but still didn't get it)
NYU (where are u?)
OHSU (heard they're slow as ever)
UCLA (if lucky for OOS)
UCSD (got the receipt but crossing fingers for OOS)
UCSF (haha, yeah right)
UW (got the initial letter, but still waiting as OOS)

if you don't get a secondary from a screening school (e.g., duke or UCSF), how long does it take for them to reject you?

Nope! They don't screen.

If you think about it financially... why should they? They can make easily $80 or so from each applicant from their secondaries (figure 5000 people apply) and thus net $400k just from postponing their personal screening process.

After all, who ISN'T going to fill out the harvard secondary (which I believe is very simple, just an extra essay if you want to do HST).

I haven't heard from them, and I just checked and they haven't cashed my check either. I should be complete there. I mailed it on 7/18

I called the Admissions Office twice since I submitted long time ago. The lady got an unnecessary attitude with me and told me that they are WAY BACKED UP and haven't even started to OPEN the envelopes yet. She told me wait a few weeks for them to get processed.

In my experience, I believe it's best practice to follow directions. If you send in more than they requested (essentially not following explicit instructions), what kind of impression do you think you are giving to them?

Just received UCSD invite, but was verified on June 13 (there were people verified later than me that received the first wave of invites). Maybe they send out new invites every couple weeks.

I got UVA interview invite today in snail mail. Anyone else got UVA yet? I don't remember the exact date, but I was complete in mid July. I'm excited though, 2 interview invites today 🙂

I got email saying UVA recieved my secondary but not one saying that my application was complete. Did you ever recieve an email saying your application was complete?

Got an e-mail from Wright State today (addressed to all early decision applicants) stating that they are having problems with the online app and that they are sending a paper copy via snail mail. Then, when they get the online app up and running they want us to go and fill that out too so they can have it in their database...

Penn was the first I got. I think they'll send it as soon as you are verified. I got mine in early July.

I got that too and I just called Rochester. That means you'll get an interview invite by email, probably tomorrow. She said that the status page wasn't supposed to be showing that, so it might be best to hold off on calling them until you hear by email. Congratulations though!
