I got that too and I just called Rochester. That means you'll get an interview invite by email, probably tomorrow. She said that the status page wasn't supposed to be showing that, so it might be best to hold off on calling them until you hear by email. Congratulations though!

Although I'm concerned- I'm about to leave for a couple weeks, so if they send the invite by snail mail I might end up being kinda late getting back to them. My one for Emory is 116 words. It was longer but I cut it down. I figure that's "approximately 100 words" 🙂

Don't worry! I had that status for a while. And the email I got today said they just did a 'preliminary review' to give out interviews. Just keep checking for it to go 'under review'.

So it went 'under review' and then 'invite'? Oh damn. I dont think Im going to make the cut. Mine was 'under review' this morning, and when i checked later, it said 'application complete'! Ha, they probably looked at my file and were like, nope sorry sista! 🙄

I feel totally overwhelmed 🙁 I have no idea how to search for and book a flight...I haven't even started classes!! Are you guys just assuming that your professors will be cool with missing class?

A friend of mine was applying to med school last year and the profs were fine but she informed them at the start of the semester that she would be missing classes. If you let them know they should be cool with it.

quick question about sending letters to hopkins. for those who are sending/sent individual letters, are the 2 letters that they requested an upper limit?

Check travelocity and expedia first. Then, check the cheapest flights you find on the individual ariline websites to see if they're even cheaper there. Then, check all of the airlines not included on the travel sites. Don't forget JetBlue, Independence Air, Southwest, or Spirit. Out of the major liners, I often do best w/Airtran. Also, sale fares are released every Tuesday, so if you're not finding a price you can afford, wait and check again the next Tuesday.

"Please give me a secondary" payment made on 7/25. I happened to be online online and paid within minutes of receiving the request.

yes, way too close

these days security can take a while, and you can't forget about rush hour traffic and leaving time for whatever. most flights board a half hour before the take-off time, and your seat can and will be given away if you are not there by that time (which you very well might not be if the day ends at 4:30). factor in the fact that this stuff never ends on time, and you might be really stressed come interview day. i would suggest a flight at 7:30 or 8.

Am I just being lazy/naive here?

I would wait. You don't want to annoy them before they've even started on your letter. I'd say give it at least a week.

I would wait as well. Professors are pretty hard to get a hold of during the summer. I called one of my professors several times earlier this summer until I finally got a hold of him. You'll be fine 🙂

I just talked to Mizzou admissions. I was told that they were delayed in getting secondaries out because the M-1 students bogged them down. They said that they'll start sending apps out again by next week via e-mail.

I hadn't thought about the M-1 students. That probably bogs several schools down a bit...

haha, you really should go....it's sooo beautiful. We went bear "hunting" (I put that in quotes because we weren't actually going to kill any...just wanted to see some), but didn't have any luck =(

That's pretty neat. I'll make it there one day... A long time ago my grandpa offered me 50 bucks for every bear that I spotted (when we were touring some national parks back in the day). I'll have to go up there and then tell him I spotted a couple dozen bears 🙂
