Goucher interview - hearing back

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It depends on when your interview was in relation to when the committee next meets; sometimes this could be within a couple of days, othertimes it could be a couple of weeks.

Good luck!!

Just heard back, got deferred. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks

What is the typical profile of students getting accepted to Goucher and Bryn Mawr? I went to a top 20 school and have a 3.4 gpa with just over a year of work in an emergency room (career change from something else). My GRE is pending but I am just curious what stats people realistically get in with. I got accepted to USC's program last year but its a two year program and a little too expensive for my taste.

I got sped through pretty quickly. My application arrived on the day their admissions committee meets, so I got an invitation to interview that Friday. The very next Wednesday (yesterday) they notified me that I was accepted. So I guess all things considered, it took five days from interview to acceptance.

In terms of profile, I go to a well regarded liberal arts college, 3.74 GPA, 4.0 SGPA, three summers interning at a lab, and ten months volunteering at an ER. Also got 1330 in the GRE and a 6 on the writing portion.

Just got accepted this week! Mordacc, do you plan on attending?

Re: stats, I had a 3.75 at a top 10 university. I was a little short on clinical experience, I started volunteering in an ER in late July.

Yep, its Goucher for me.

It is odd though - I have been accepted to Goucher before I have even heard back from any other places I applied to (BM, Scripps, etc). Still, I can't imagine that I would pick any of those over Goucher.

Hi everyone,

Congrats on your acceptance! I won't be applying until another year or two. It sounds like an awesome program.

Hey Mordacc and JuliusTheDog--I was just accepted into Goucher's post bac as well. Did you guys even consider other post bacs? also why was Goucher your first choice? I am 90% sold, I just was wondering if there was anything I am missing.

Thanks!

Congrats on your acceptance! I was at Goucher last year, and as I've said in many posts, I wouldn't have changed my decision for anything! Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have about the upcoming year.
