Just got an email invitation to interview at Governors State...has anyone else heard back yet or set an interview date? I think one interesting aspect of their program is that a pre-req is an Intro to OT class (which is not a pre-req for any other school I applied to) - so that might limit the applicant pool somewhat...
Whew - just glad to at least hear back something positive from somewhere!

I dont have an interview date yet but i am just wondering when did you send in your application? But yeah i dont think governors state gets as many applicants comparatively. Also are you in state?

My application got verified on Oct. 6, so that beat the initial deadline of October 15 (they had since extended the application deadline to Oct. 31).
Yup, I am in-state, but it might be a rather insanely long drive to get there.
(Maybe) Interesting factoid: their Intro to OT pre-req class is taught by the program admission chair, so really doing well in that might bode well for an application.

Congratulations! I also applied, but I have to complete Chem and Physics before they can invite me for an interview. This pretty much dooms me, I think, because I won't be done with Physics until Spring 2016 and they might already have their class chosen. She did say though that if the class does not fill I could be invited for the second set of interview rounds. I guess we will just have to wait and see. If not I will be applying next year!! OT or die over here! lol

Some information for the 3 of us (ha!) who seem to be interested in GSU:
I had my interview today - relatively easy writing assignment (about 20 min.) and met with one faculty member, Dr. Wanka, for about 1 hour, 20 minutes. Very relaxed atmosphere and pretty standard questions. Diversity is a plus - non-trad student education is part of their mission statement. She emphasized a couple of times it is a good sign to be asked for an interview; they will notify students in January.
