Hi, I'm not sure if this is even good enough for acceptance but it looks like I'll be graduating with a 3.56 overall GPA and a 3.46 BCPM. Two Questions.... 1) do the schools consider rounding to two decimals or is this like saying a 3.6 overall and 3.5 BCPM, and 2) does it even look like I have a shot at allopathic schools in Texas? I will have 3 research experiences: one dealing with plant biology (it was the first research experience I can get at my school), the second is dealing with pathogens that are infecting our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and helping find a vaccine (still currently doing research with this and will probably assist in a publication though I doubt it will be much -- my name will probably just appear somewhere...no biggie) and three is I begin doing cancer research with the college of medicine at my school next month and will have about a year of that before I apply to med school. I will have shadowed about 4 different doctors in different settings but only a few days each one for a few hours except for a Geriatric physician that I shadowed once a week for 5 months. I also have been volunteering in the Emergency Department for about 2 years once a week.
**Any thoughts on my situation? I don't mind the critique at all. I haven't taken my MCAT yet though.
All advice is welcome.
