i know my mcat score isn't good, nor my GPA. I probably won't be pursuing medical school anymore. but i want to be 100 percent sure that i probably wont get into any medical schools before i pursue another career.
What are my chances for any medical school in california? i go to UCD rn so im particularily interested in UCDavis medical school

Why not retake MCAT? GPA is fine.
Because i did my best and i don't think it will go up anymore. Ik im very pessimistic but on all my practice MCAT i was scoring around that too.
I saw UCD medical school average mcat average was 32. i was just seeing if my 505 is close enough to even try to apply.

My pre-health advisor showed me some stats from last years UCDSOM class. MCATS and GPAs were all over the place. Did you apply this year?

Do it! IF medical school is what you really want to do. My MCAT score is 504 and I had more than one interview and have been accepted to one school thus far. Your scores aren't everything - there are many schools that do a very holistic review of each applicant. I would spend my time before application gaining some experience if you aren't already doing that and start thinking about how you are going to set yourself apart from the other applicants during this process. If this is what you really want to do, don't be so quick to give up!

I just saw that you go to UCD currently. I am finishing up my senior year there. Have you had any appointments with the pre-health advisors? Seriously, you should ask to see the stats from UCDSOM! I went to the pre-health conference in 2014 and listened to a panel of students from UCDSOM. They were very encouraging about not letting your GPA or MCAT score dissuade you. I remember one of them saying she had been on academic probation, twice!

Not to be the bad guy here, but if you're this pessimistic about the MCAT, you might really not enjoy med school that much. Definitely talk to the UCD's med school but definitely take some time to contemplate if medicine is what you really want to do. No shame in not wanting to do it but it's better to be sure going in than to have the debt burden around your neck making it difficult to do anything but plow through.

Loving the optimism - you won't get accepted to any school you don't apply to!

However, I feel that unless the other aspects of one's app is very strong (ECs, URM Status... etc), a 505 for US MD going forward is going to be even tougher than this current app cycle since schools will have a better idea what the new MCAT scores mean

You're fine for the two DO schools in CA, and many more.

I think you would spend a lot of time and money applying MD with those stats for the slight chance that you get in. DO however would be a much more reasonable option, which may give you a much better shot.
