If I have a 3.9 overall gpa and a 3.96 science/math gpa. What would be least possible scores I could make on the DAT and still have a fighting chance of getting in to a school such as MCG or MUSC? Im just two weeks away from test day and I am starting to freak myself out. Any opinions are appreciated.

This question really can't be answered. There's not a chart where you line up your GPA and a DAT score to see if you're above the threshold to get accepted. Dental schools are looking for a rounded person and that comes from a wide variety of places. GPA and DAT are significant but depending on the other half of the picture you may need a fat DAT or you may be able to get by with a low score. Assuming you're outstanding in every area BUT the DAT.. I would say you might be able to skim in with a 17 assuming you play your cards perfectly. But why risk that? Go get you some 20's so you can sleep at night.

Since you have that high GPA... and High Science GPA they expect you to score higher... if you do not score higher then they might question you GPA...

if you got 18s and higher maybe a 16 in math, 17 in something else you will be set. i had a good GPA so that took a lot of pressure off of my DAT scores...i only needed to average.

although at the same time if you have a GPA like you do, schools like to see that GPA reflected in your DAT scores.. so if you have around a 4, and get a 18aa on your DATs (around average), a red flag kinda goes off for the schools wondering why you didnt perform up to your potential illustrated by your GPA.

this happened, to me, i got an 18aa my first DAT, with my GPA, schools wanted me to retake to see what i could do.. so keep that in mind

+1...

Don't assume that a high gpa will make up for a low dat score. Instead, get a high dat score to complement the gpa, so there's no question of gpa inflation. Before I took the dat, I was almost positive that my gpa was grossly inflated from my school. When I got my dat scores, only then was I able to convince myself otherwise.

I have over a 3.9 and got 22/22/20 on my DAT and got waitlisted by OSU...don't take the DAT for granted, and certainly don't take interviews for granted. I imagine I'm not the norm in this situation however.

OSU is public so unless you're an Oklahoma resident than this would be normal. Those seats that are available for non-residents are VERY competitive. That GPA and the DAT scores should get you into your state school and a good number of private schools. If you are an Oklahoma resident, I'm not sure what to think.
