Short answer: most do holistic review but there is no simple compensation for a "low" GPA with a high DAT. Often the disparate results put a greater spotlight on the application (which do we believe? What other information clarify this?).

It is very possible to make large improvements in DAT scores with dedicated studying and resources. If you have the time and money to do so I would absolutely recommend improving your score because if that is the difference between getting into your state school the benefit can be hundreds of thousands of dollars
Oh thanks. Different from medical school admissions, it helps with holistic review, but doesn't fully compensate for an average DAT.
Adding, the new score scale may help you if you retake, but read the article. I agree it depends on your focus and any more effective change in study strategy. Read the DAT forum.
