The osteopathic med school I go to does GPAs and has an honors society (3.8 or higher), but we have no apparently ranking, just a scattergram. Are these all things that residencies consider?? I am not doing poorly but I have had my fair share of As, B+s, Bs, and 2 Cs all within my first year of med school. I am interested in more competitive specialties as of now and faculty at my school says that residencies don't consider these factors, but 4th years going into my specialties of interest say they do.

Any and all help is appreciated🙂

If you maintain top quartile in your class, honor many clinical rotations, score 255-260 on Step 2 and have some research, you should be able to match a competitive specialty, escpecially at DO programs. SSP (top 25%) will not carry the same weight as AOA (top 16%) at MD/academic programs.
