So I keep hearing on SDN about how vet schools really take into account the different breakdown of your GPA (e.g. last 45, science, etc...)

Am I blind, or is there nowhere on VMCAS to put those breakdowns? Do they calculate them on their own? All I can figure out is that you put down your self-reported GPA from your primary college, and list the rest on the explanation statement.

Also, another random question. Do full-time internships count as employment? I didn't know if I should fill out the "Has there been any interval longer than 3 months during which you were not enrolled as a student or employed?" section. I did take a semester off to do this internship, but it's not like that time was unaccounted for...

Thanks everyone!

I think that schools will calculate their own little GPA things, be in last 45, science, or required course GPA. You just enter you individual courses and your overall and they take it from there. Maybe there's a school that asks for you to calculate something for the supplemental, but I wouldn't know. If you aren't asked, don't worry.

As for the internship, it doesn't seem like it should matter. But, if you did mention it in that space, the schools would be able to figure out fro themselves what an internship counts as - I don't think it would hurt you. So if you want to be thorough...

Thanks Twelvetigers!

I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't forgetting to fill out an important part of the apps! That's what I figured about the leave of absence part. I just didn't want adcoms to all of the sudden assume that I was an excon or something like that.
