I'm not sure what you're confused about, it seems to be spelled out pretty clearly in there. An A- is 3.667.

A+ (4.3) A (4.0) A- (3.667) AB (3.5) B+ (3.3) B (3.0) B- (2.7) BC (2.5) C+ (2.3) C (2.0) C- (1.7) CD (1.5) D+ (1.3) D (1.0) D- (0.7) DE (0.5) F (0.0) None

In the booklet they actually have both figures if you read it. 3.7 (which could be 3.7000) and 3.667. It says 3.7 on page 50 (forgot to mention that). That's why I was confused. Thanks for the responses.

Interesting - they provide contradictory information. Have you calculated your GPA both ways? I can't imagine it making much of a difference, what you lose in B+ you gain in A-.

Haha you're right. I don't have too many B+s but do have a ton of A-s. Whatever. I realize it's a pretty minor thing so I'll just wait to see what my GPA turns out to be after I turn in my app next cycle.

Haha sweet, if it is indeed a 3.7 for an A- and a 3.3 for B+, then you got the better end of that deal.

theres one thing I hate about this GPA system as some schools do not have A+ and A is the highest possible grade. Obviousl those in A school will have much lower grade than A+ school even if they both get 100% on their test/grades/etc.

Agreed - I would have had several A+ in my chem classes 🙁. Oh well!

Even at schools that had A+, it might be a rare thing. At my school the professor was required to write a letter to the head of the dept stating why they are giving out A+'s to students who are getting them. So it was a rare thing basically reserved for people who had 100% in the class and even then it wasn't generally going to happen because the professor needed to be motivated to make it happen, you know? They were so rare that I didn't think A+'s existed at my school until I got one. And I don't know anyone else who has one. 😱

I wish there had been some numerical cut off for an A+, but there wasn't.

I would assume 3.667 and 3.333 over 3.700 and 3.300. The former is just more accurate IMO, so I assume that's how it's going to be. I haven't submitted to AADSAS yet (not applying this cycle), so I don't actually know, though.

A- is 3.667

B+ is 3.333

Got mine verified last year.

Also, AADSAS will calculate your gpa with the +/- and without +/- so you can be compared to students in schools who don't give out +/-

Agreed that this is completely unfair and stinks. They need to have a standardized system that applies to ALL schools. If an A+ equates to a 99 or 100, I would have about 10 of them, including classes like organic chemistry. I work my absolute tail off in school and it just sucks my GPA can't even possibly be as high as others because of this. 🙁 Oh well. It would be nice to get the small reward of a 4.3 for our hard work!
