gpa calculation??

I'm not sure if this question has been answered in another forum...but...

I was wondering how I should calculate my gpa for pre-reqs I've taken over again. Is it averaged? Does it replace the previous grade? I know that there is a separate section for post-bac courses on the AMCAS/SMP apps, but I also heard that if these post-bacs (i.e. upper level sciences) are undergrad classes, they are calculated under that category as well.

For allopathy schools, it is averaged. For osteopathy school, the last grade from the class is used. The old ones are dropped. I believe that anything post-bac is kept post-bac category.
