I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, but I searched and couldn't find the answers to them.
Does Pharmcas calculate your science or prerequisite gpa?(and which do schools look at?)Like when schools have their average pre-req gpa's on pharmacas, is that including other pre-req's (like english, psych, econ,electives..)?
Also, I wanted to approx calculate my prereq gpa and am not sure how. For example under electives, let's say 10 units worth, do I get to choose which classes to include?? Also, I was a psychology major, and only 1 class is required... will they pick a class (is it always a general intro class?) or do I get to choose one for them to count? What if it just says math, does it have to be calculus or can I use college algebra in which I got an A

For the PharmCAS gpa calculations they calculate your overall, basically every collegiate level course you've ever taken, and your science gpa from basically every collegiate science level course you've ever taken. As for the prereq gpas, I'm not sure about that. If I had to guess I'd say that they calculate it from the classes that you put on the supplemental, but then not every school's supplemental (Colorado for instance) asks for that kind of information. So maybe it depends on the school you're applying to.

hmm. Maybe I should've taken the spirit of mathematics instead of calc 3. 🙂

When I was applying my counselor looked over my Transcripts and wrote down what would be used to satisfy what. It can vary a little bit but in general it was all the same. If you have specific questions just call/email the school and ask them. Better to get the information from the source than us speculating SDNers....
