I'm wondering which GPA system would you prefer.....
A | 4.0 | 94-100
A | 4.0 | 87-93
A- | 3.67 | 80-86
B+ | 3.33 | 77-79
B | 3.0 | 73-76
B- | 2.67 | 70-72
C+ | 2.33 | 67-69
C | 2.0 | 63-66
C- | 1.67 | 60-62
D+ | 1.33 | 57-59
D | 1.0 | 53-56
D- | 0.67 | 50-52
F | 0 | 0-49

OR the other system with no minus and plus grades, just A~4.0 B~3.0 C~2.0 etc.??

It seems like the first system would be easier to keep a high GPA, correct?

Opinions?

Perhaps.

But AMCAS is gonna "normalize" your GPA during the application process. And some medical schools will apply a weight to the undergrad school that you go to on top of that GPA (ie: 4.0 from Utica College is not equally weighted to 4.0 from MIT)....

For most people I suspect it's a wash, but if you are the type who keeps scoring in the A- range, and hardly ever in the B+ range, then you are better off with those schools that would treat that as equivalent to an A...

80+ is A-? That would be awesome.

90-93 is an A- usually.

Yeah, that's how Tulane does it....bastards.
