I thought about adding this to the 'How many C's...' thread, but figured that it may deserve its own. Does anyone know which schools use +/- grades to tabulate gpas? I have been told from Purdue admissions that +/- grades are not taken into consideration (read: B+ = B), but was just told by Louisiana that they do use +/- grades in gpa calculations. Any thoughts?

I used the +/- system when I did my self-reported GPA, but other than that, I'm not sure about individual schools.

Wow. I've never heard of schools not taking into account +/-, but maybe I'm just sheltered.

All the schools I've applied to take my grades as is (with +/-) and I've applied to Cornell, Penn, CSU, OSU, and Illinois.

I'm guessing that Purdue doesn't take +/- because they don't give +/- for undergrad grades.

It depends on the school. In some cases, you can find out this information on the website for admissions. In other cases, you'll have to contact the school if you really want to know (not that it will really make any difference).
