This is my understanding:

We report 3 GPAs to the AADSAS which are:

Overall GPA
Science GPA
BCP GPA

Is this right?

Also, is the BCP GPA only the classes that are the intro bio, gen chem, o chem, and intro physics courses or do other chem classes count (like P.Chem)? I took the easier gen chem and o chem courses (for nursing majors) before hygiene school and am taking the full series now. Do you think those easier chem courses go under BCP or Science? I'm not applying this year but I want to figure out where I stand.

From my understanding, AADSAS will calculate your GPA, sGPA, and BCP GPA for you (because you provide your grades and credit loads).

BCP GPA includes ALL: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics classes you have ever taken in your college career.

Mostly all science courses you took will count as BCP.

Examples that count as science and not BCP are courses like calculus, statistics, nutrition, winemaking, etc.

Yes, ma'am.

Micro, immuno, genetics, p-chem, pharmacology, biochem, etc... all count as BCP.

Hell, I took a class entitled agricultural biosystems and technology that counted as BCP even though all I did in that class was learn how to drive tractors.

Hmmmm.....

Now I'm a little confused. I wonder if my hygiene school credits count. I took pharmacology, head & neck anatomy, radiology, histology & embryology, among others.

I know some schools don't look at community college credit but when the AADSAS app reports your GPA do they include CC courses?

Ultimately, the people at ADEA who look at your app will decide what your BCP, science, and overall GPAs are and let you know, using their own standards and rules. For some people, it's higher than expected, and some others, lower.

Otherwise everyone would be putting down everything as science when it wasn't and have higher GPAs.

Biggest fear of mine :scared:

Valid question. I'm interested to know this as well.

Well, yeah... but it's always nice to have your own estimate to determine if you're even competitive enough to apply.

As for the hygiene courses, IMO just treat it like an undergrad institution... all the bio courses you took would count as BCP. All the ones SeattleRDH listed would count under BCP if you took them at any other college so they would count. Except maybe radiology... that would be a fuzzy one I would ask the ADEA about.
