Hey gals and guys,

I am a rising MS4 applying to ob/gyn this cycle. I apologize in advance if this is a silly question, but does anyone know if ob/gyn residency programs have gpa cut-offs for offering interviews? I have seen both step 1 and gpa cut-offs listed for some programs on the APGO website, but I've only seen step 1 cut-offs listed on FRIEDA. I'm not sure if that reflects the extent to which APGO is updated or if FRIEDA just chooses not to list gpa cut-offs. Sorry for all of the rambling 😳

Sorry, but I don't look at GPA, granted you passed medical school in a traditional 4 year process with no gaps. I question individuals who have gaps, unless if its medically related.

I look at board scores and attempts.

I also look at the entire CV.

I also look for location and connections. At the end of the day, I want a candidate who will want me as well. Don't want to waste a slot for someone who you know will not rank your program high.

Most of the time, students are traditional. However, you do get a few who have done other amazing things in life. Its always refreshing to speak with those individual.

Other PD can speak up and chime in.
