How different is let's say a 3.67 compared to a 3.7?
How specific are med schools in determining acceptances for gpa cutoffs?

Should I take an extra science course to slightly boost my gpa or is that not necessary

GPA cutoffs are usually placed at ~3.0 or below. With a 3.67 you will pass all cutoffs.

I mean is there a difference between 3.67 and 3.7?
Is there a big difference
I think I mis titled this thread

That GPA is fine. It will pass cutoffs for sure as Euxox has mentioned. I would spend my time elsewhere like MCAT prep or ECs.

The difference between those 2 GPAS is negligible.

So it wouldn't be worth it to take a whole extra class for that?
I just assumed 3.7 somehow looks much better

I wouldn't just to push your GPA from 3.67 to 3.7. Might be better off spending that time doing something else to bolster your application. But that's just my opinion. I would wait and see what others say.

Hm ok
Thanks

Don't stress over it. As long as your ECs and MCAT are good, a 3.67 will not hold you back

The difference between a 3.67 and a 3.7 is ZERO in terms of medical school admissions. If the decision came down to you with a 3.67 and an applicant with a 3.7, and assuming all else between your apps is equal (MCAT, EC's, college major, etc.) the ADCOM would probably look at the interview report for clues as to who should get the spot.

Rarely will someone with below a 3.0 even get an interview at an allopathic school. (Note to SDNers: I have said rarely. I am sure there are some anecdotal statistical outliers here, and we're talking about the norm, not the exceptions.)

I haven't taken the Mcat yet
Obv I'll aim high bit
What would be a satisfying score to not retake?
