GPA help!!

I am a sophomore at the University of Wyoming and I need some advice! My first semester of college was pretty tough and I ended up with a C in both Biology and Chemistry and second semester I got B's in both Bio2 and Chem 2. And last semester I received a C in Organic chem. I have received A's in other science classes such as Microbiology, physics, anatomy, and so on. I am hoping for a B in ochem 2 this semester. I also have 1000+ hours of working and shadowing in a dental office. But my question is should I retake any of the courses I got C's in? Or should I move on from those and focus on some upper level science courses? I know that it will show that I took the course twice on my transcript and it will show both grades so will it even be worth it? Do I still have a chance at dental school with these grades? Please help! thank you!🙂

yes, you have a chance. Focus on A's in upper level courses. The key from here on out is an "upward trend." 👍

They will not consider you if you recieve a C - in a pre-req so you are okay there.If you can take other upper level science courses and get A's then your AADSAS GPA will be the same as it would be if you retook those courses and got A's. So no, personally I would not recommend retaking them. You will however have to get a great Total Science score on the DAT (21+) to show schools that you are capable of comprehending the info and were just "adapting to college." It's all about how you spin it...

It matters..does your school let you retake classes which are higher than a C-?

At UW, we do not have a +/- system. We have A=4, B=3 and so on... haha and no I am not armenian. You can retake any course it will just show up that you took it twice. On my UW transcript it will replace the grade but both will be reported in AADSAS. Thank you for your help guys!🙂
