Can you be rejected by a school that you have already been accepted to if you do poorly your last undergraduate semester before matriculation? I'm sure it depends on the school. Does anyone have any examples of the approach of different schools?

You bet you can get your offer rescinded. That's why they give you a conditional or provisional acceptance with a statement that says you must maintain Bs, Cs, etc.
How low can you go.....you make it sound like you want to play limbo with schools. Not a game I would play.

👍👍👍
If you are smart/hard working enough to get into dental school why would you risk having the rug being pulled out from underneath you just to be lazy?? Its not like anything is going to get easier in ds so you might as well stay used to working hard and excelling academically

Love the moral support. Thanks guys.

Thought it would be a good thread for those of us delving into intense classes that we wouldn't risk getting a B or C+ in before applying that would hurt our GPA (Physical Synthetic Chemistry! ahhh!) or classes that teachers say they haven't given an A in in years.

If anyone wants to try to get the lowest possible grade in their classes before entering, you need to think better. Dental school is not about skating by but achieving and believing in yourself. If you want to play games with the admissions commitee, then you should rethink your career choice. I hope this is clear.

Alright, I see what you are asking. It just came off differently in the title.
Anyway, if you want to take a bunch of tough courses just keep the credit load smaller just in case you have to put some more time/effort into a course.
I am taking immunology, histology, and pharmacology next semester, but I only have 12 credits altogether.

Anything less than a 3.0 your last semester and you'd probably end up screwed

A 2.9 at my school is still a B. A C+ is like... a 2.4 or something, so for schools that require you to get a C, that shouldn't be very hard -- just get at least a 2.3. The gpa equivalents seem strangely low.

I'm also thinking about taking hard classes next semester, which will give me a grand total of 12 credits. 🙂 Does anyone know whether dental schools frown on taking so few credits the final semester or not?

As long as you finished the prereqs and will get your degree they shouldn't care.
Also I think schools would be alright with the low credit load if most of those 12 credits are upper level sciences.

I hear you. I also have to take PChem + PChem lab...not good on their own and even worse combined.
