hey, i took a class one summer during college and ended up failing it bc of a major car accident that happened the day before the final. it was a complicated situation where i couldn't drop the class bc it was too late into the quarter and the professor wouldn't let me retake it, even though i provided evidence of the accident. anyways, i ended up getting an F in the class but retook it later on and got an A.
my question is: when they calculate your gpa on the amcas, do they calculate the failed class and the retake, or just the retake? i just realized that if they calculate the F, my gpa is definitely going to take a major hit. hmm.
