hi guyzz, i m thinking for dental school too and wanted to know what are the basic pre requisite and what is the minimum gpa required do school accept replaced grade for example i got f in orgo retook it got B+ will dental school accept my replaced grade and it will increase my science gpa...

They will end up averaging those two grades together

They will average them for your GPA calc, but they will accept that you passed orgo

they average them? ouch...that sux..
I got B- in orgo and retook it to get A, I guess it count as half B and half B+.

why would you retake a B-? that just looks silly now.

Isn't B- bad? Well...I was hoping that they only take the higher score "A" without averaging them 🙁 because that's what my school did.

I guess every school is different. For my school there is a one-time "grade forgiveness." Basically, if you got a F in a class you can take it again. And whatever you got the second time it will completely replace the F and it won't affect your gpa and the F will be erased from your record.

thats not accurate smurf. Yes, your school will throw away the grade, but when it comes time for applications you still have to tell AADSAS (dental schools) both grades, which they average together.

Each school has different pre reqs. You need to look up schools that you are interested in and/or might be interested in and learn what the pre reqs are. I'm confident a 3.5 sci/cum gpa with a 19 DAT will get you in somewhere. Do better than that then you're above the average in most cases. Go to predents.com. There you will find a good idea of which schools are accepting what stats.

I am pretty certain that every school keeps the F on there. They may not count it toward your University GPA..but it doesn't get erased. It goes on the transcripts. at my school, they average both of the grades. So for example, if you have an F..it's really hard to qualify for any honors or distinctions at graduation (etc).
