Hi guys, I am a guy who used to go to Community College and got Free A++ from many classes including Chemistry1,2, BIO1, and PHY1.

now i transferred to 4yr institution (GMU) and taking BIO2 and PHY2.

first of all, i have to say I can't expect Free A++ just by going to professor's office and beg for grade.

I just took bio1 test for the first time. it was 50 questions and i already know that i missed at least 3. 😡

I don't know if I can get A in science classes no more 🙁

I see many ppl from this website saying that they have 4.0 GPA including all the science courses... I can only say WOW.

My question is, I heard that AADSAS recalculate ur GPA. Why can't they just use the GPA that we send from our school?

oh by the way, in our school, if u get B+, ur GPA is B+ but ur transcript only says B for the letter grade even though they still treat ur GPA as B+. So....i wonder if AADSAS can figure out if B is B+ or B- 😕

Don't sweat it. If you study hard, you'll do fine.

But about splitting up your courses over two institutions. I think schools prefer if you took both sections of a course (ex: Bio 101A, 101B) at the same institution.

Sure you can. Don't give in so easily. Things will only get more difficult as the year progresses. Figure out what is wrong, and improve on it.

Yes these people deserve a pat on the back. It takes a lot of hard work. But there are not as many people with 4.0's as you think there are.

AADSAS calculates your GPA using the +/- system and without the +/- system. Schools have their own system of calculating GPA's and this is AADSAS's way of trying to even things out so everyone can be compared in the same light (sort of).

Are you sure this is how it works? That doesn't really make sense.

At first, I thought it doesn't make sense if transcript says B+ is B even though they give me B+ GPA, but that's how George Mason University works.

I read GMU's website and the have no mention of your transcript reflecting a B and your actual grade being a B+.

However, it does not matter. Every school that I know of uses the GPA w/o qulaity points because it levels the playing field. Many schools do not offer +/-. For example UF only offers +. So my grades would be potentialy better than yours because of the classes where I got a B and you got a B-.

Secondly,RELAX. If I recall.... several months ago you were worried about post-grad schools. The name of the game here is ONE STEP AT A TIME. You will get into dental school without a 4.0.

Missing 3 questions is not a big deal. The tests at a 4 year are harder than at the community college. Missing 3 questions at the CC may have been a big deal but at the 4 year that very well may be one of the best scores in the class. You have to remember that most of these classes are graded on a curve and the only thing that matters is that you do better than everyone else in the class. It's all about out working your competition. 👍

First of all, the GMU win is pretty big. I hope they actually beat Florida - where I attend school...they deserve it more than us. Secondly, don't worry about pulling straight A's in your sciences, it is of course a great goal, but your community college grades will be thrown in with your university grades - a total GPA will be calculated. Luckily you have those A's to balance out anything that may happen now. However, schools do look for community college applicants to maintain good grades upon transition to dental school. If you can pull A's at the university, you can prove that your A's weren't total bs...
