At my school, transfer courses are not counted towards my overall GPA. I have several dual credit courses that count as transfers and one summer class from a community college.

When applying to med school, how do these transfer courses effect my GPA? Would the transfers be included in the recalculated GPA, and if so, which GPA will count more towards admissions, the GPA with the transfers or the GPA that's stated on the college transcript if one was higher than the other?

You have to include all school transcripts and all courses go toward your official AMCAS GPA. This was nice for me because at a couple other universities I got all As that would have been very difficult to get at my degree granting college. GPA boost!

The more recent coursework is likely to be considered as more suggestive of your work ethic, unless you transferred to an easier school.
