Ok, so this may be a stupid question...

When I calculate my GPA do I need to keep my post-grad GPA seperate from my undergrad GPA?

I graduated as a business major from Emory University with a 3.4 and 3.2 science GPA (although only gen chem and bio). I finished all my other science classes (orgo, physics, micro, genetics, biochem and labs) at my state school in Florida as a non-degree seeking student and have a 4.0 there. Since I did not get a second degree, can add that 4.0 to my undergrad GPA b/c it would bring it way up, especially my science GPA??

Thanks!!

What school in Florida do you attend, I myself am a Gator.

If it's post-grad then it has to be listed as such. Besides, on the transcripts, adcoms will see that you earned a degree from Emory and then took courses after that, so there isn't really any way to hide it. The transcript will be in chronological order so it's easy to spot this.

Oh well. If I took most of my science classes (all but two) as a post grad, then I guess they will have to look at those grades too inorder to see my science GPA.

Dex- I went USF (my boyfriend goes to med-school there so we came back down to Florida together after college). I already spent enough money at emory for my 4 years, so when I decided that I wanted to be a dentist I took two science classes my senior year and decided to take the rest at a state school to save major $$$ and to stay with my BF 😀

I'm also a business major and completed all my pre-reqs after I graduated from college. When I filled out my science pre-reqs in my applicatoin, I filled them out as undergrad classes since that's what they are, not to fulfill my undergrad degree obviously, but the classes were listed as 100, 200, 300 level courses which indicates they are undergrad classes and that's how I listed them. I never had any problems/questions and since I also obtained a 4.0 in the rest of the science courses, my BCP/science GPA was obviously higher than when I graduated a few years back. So, to answer your question, yes those classes will bring your science GPA up. Good luck!
