When applying to med school, how important is your non science gpa.

I do great in all sciences.

But as far as general ed requirements such as history, sociology, english. I have B's and C's.

Is that really important? As long as I have a high science gpa and a high mcat score I should be able to get into some type of medical school right?

Also, how important are volunteer hours. I go to school full time and practically work full time, i really have no time for anything. I work as a personal assistant with a wheel chair bound woman with CP. Is that good enough?

It really depends on what kind of a cumulative GPA we are talking about. A few B's and C's certainly won't kill you if the cum GPA is still competitive. But a very low cum GPA will hurt you notwithstanding that you've aced all the science prerequisites.
