Right when I got out of Highschool, I was not focus on my studies. I started at a community College my first year, then transfer to a 4yrs university. However, when I attended the community college, half of my grades are F, some C, and some B. Then at the 4yr university, it was even worst. I sign up for classes, went for a few lectures, and never came back. So to make the long story short, I drop out. About 3 years later, I finally got my life together, and decided to go back to school. I'm currently attending the same community college for about 2 semesters now. I manage to retake the classes I got Fs in and replace all with As. I also retook some of my classes with C and replace them with As. My Gpa is about 3.0 right now, because I still have about 3 Cs and 3Bs. The 4yr university I was attending was University of Houston, and they said if I transfer my classes I took at the community College, it just count as If I took the course and not add to my overall UOH Gpa. Since It was only about 4yrs ago that I drop out of UOH, all the classes I sign up at UOH and fell still stand right? So there is no Fresh start? Would it be better to transfer to another university instead? I guess my even bigger concern is when I apply for optometry school, do they average the grades of the community college with the grades at the 4yr university for your overall GPA? Also what about the courses , that I've retaken, do the optometry school only count the highest grade or do they average those also? I really want to start my life over and do well. I just hope it's not too late....I guess the reason I am asking is because I need to know should I even bother retaken those classes that I still have left with Cs? So any advice would help. Anyways Thanks you in advance for your time.
