Okay, I'm really not impressed with Samuel Merritt and their crappy service. I've been trying to reach someone at the admission office to ask a simple question for the PAST TWO WEEKS! 😡 I have left them numerous voicemails, sent out emails to various people and when I'm able to get hold of anyone, they tell me they don't have the slightest clue. Sorry about complaining but I'm just too frsutrated with them. I'm hoping someone here can help me with this; I have about 5 repeated gardes (previously got c's and I took the classses again to improve GPA). How does Samuel Merritt compute the GPA? Do they average the repeated grades like MD DO and dental programs?
Thank you

DO schools don't take the average of repeated classes, for the record. They take only the latest retake, which is a huge advantage.

So theoretically, if you had two semesters that looked like this:

Semester 1
Class X - F
Class Y - F
Class Z - F

Semester 2
Retake X - A
Retake Y - A
Retake Z - A

Your GPA to MD/DDS schools is a 2.0, but to DO schools, your GPA is a 4.0. One of the many reasons osteopathic med schools are considered to look at the applicant in a more forgiving way than allopathic schools.

Thanks; but do you know about podiatry schools? Because that's what I'm going for

I believe that all pod schools average the grades, they do not replace the grades.
